This week I attended the ODP National Camp in Phoenix, AZ. What an experience!
I had a great time seeing my friends from Region 1 and meeting players from the other three regions. All of the girls are great players and I was glad I had the opportunity to get to play with them on my team or against them in scrimmages.
Kasey Burke was my scramble team coach. I learned a lot from her and the other coaches while I was there. They reinforced what I need to work on before Region 1 camp in July. I’ll be working hard between now and then because I hope to make the Thanksgiving Tournament team and the national camp rosters again next year. I was glad I was able to play left wing most of the time, which is the position I’m learning more about and am starting to feel comfortable in, but I also switched to left back at one point, so I was able to work on the two positions I’ve been playing for my club teams. I also enjoyed learning more about the national team selection process from April Kater and Sue Ryan.
It was my first time visiting the Southwest, but I’ll be back again with Binghamton for the conclusion of National League in Las Vegas, March 17-20.
