Match Fit Academy is Headed to the National Championship!

It’s actually been a few weeks since we found out we qualified for Nationals, but between playing on Match Fit, GBUFC & my ODP team, this spring has been kinda crazy!

I’m really excited to make my first trip to the west coast and to play in the national tournament with this team. I’ve been working hard on my touches and shooting and I hope I play well in CA. I know the competition will be tough, but my team and I are ready. We fly two weeks from today!

In other news, GBUFC came in second against Empire Rochester for the NYW state cup this past weekend. We were up 2-0 until the final four minutes, but ended up with a 2-2 tie, and lost the cup on goal differential. While I was happy for my Region 1 ODP teammates on Rochester, it was disappointing we couldn’t make it a three-peat for the cup. It was hard to watch the last few minutes from the sidelines, knowing there wasn’t anything I could do to help but I hoped for the best. The Rochester coach complemented my playing after the game when I went and congratulated my friends, which was nice of him.

Up next ~ The ODP Region 1 tournament this weekend, then ECNL Nationals with Match Fit, June 23-28 and USYS Nationals with Binghamton, July 25-31. After that I’ll be focusing on just high school soccer and one club team next year!
